The Medical Research Council and the University of Cambridge are the primary sponsors of the project. The MRC has provided the intra-mural support for core CALM staff (Investigator Scientist – Dr Jacalyn Guy and Research Assistant – Fánchea Daly). Clinic testing is conducted by Fánchea Daly and Jacalyn Guy and by a team of researchers supported either by the MRC or external grants/ studentships associated with the three linked programmes and external grants held by Drs Duncan Astle, Kate Baker, Rogier Kievit, Tom Manly, and Professor Susan Gathercole.
The local NHS Research Ethics Committee granted ethical approval for CALM and its longitudinal follow-up, CALM II.
